Juventus Secure Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina for Up to €38 Million
Juventus signed Argentine winger Nicolas Gonzalez from Fiorentina in a big summer transfer window deal.
Under new coach Thiago Motta, Juventus is working to rebuild their team, and this deal, at a possible €38 million ($42.5 million), is a part of that endeavor.
As the Turin giants continue to restock their roster for new coach Thiago Motta, Nicolas Gonzalez signed a contract worth a possible 38 million euros ($42.5 million) with Juventus on Sunday. Gonzalez previously played for Fiorentina. Argentina’s Gonzalez, a winger, was recruited by Juventus in a statement for eight million euros on a season-long loan, with an option to buy for 25 million euros plus bonuses of five million euros “subject to the achievement of certain sporting objectives.”
“Given the high probability of the above conditions being achieved… this transaction qualifies as a definitive acquisition effective from today for a total amount of 33 million euros,” stated Juve.
After spending three years with Fiorentina, where he placed second in the most recent two Europa Conference League tournaments and the 2023 Italian Cup, the 26-year-old departs for Juventus.
Gonzalez has made 39 appearances for Argentina, scoring five goals and contributing to the Albiceleste’s victories in the 2021 and most recent Copa Americas.
Monday night’s match between Juventus and Verona is where Gonzalez is expected to make his debut for his new team, Roma, the following weekend.
By then, Juve ought to have finalized the signing of Francisco Conceicao, who was supposedly valued at nine million euros, on a straight one-season loan from Porto.
During the summer transfer window, Juventus signed players like Douglas Luiz and Khepren Thuram. They are also actively trying to recruit Teun Koopmeiners, the star midfielder for Atalanta.
