Lakers’ Victory over Hawks 87-86 at Summer League
Bronny James, son of NBA icon LeBron James, scored 12 points in an impressive performance that helped the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Atlanta Hawks 87-86 in the NBA Summer League.
Bronny’s shot accuracy significantly improved in this game, demonstrating his promise.
On his seventeenth try, Bronny James drained his first 3-pointer of the summer, one of his first five attempts from the field. He shot 2 for 5 from 3-point range and finished 5 for 11 from the field.
The shooting was a significant advancement. After going 7 for 31 from the field this summer and going 4 for 19 in his two games in Las Vegas, James entered on Wednesday.
Over the summer, the No. 55 pick in this year’s draft is averaging 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game on 29% shooting. He now plays three games in Las Vegas and two more earlier this month at the California Classic in San Francisco.
Bronny James played in all 25 of the team’s games during his one and only year of collegiate basketball at Southern California, where he averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. After going into cardiac arrest during a workout last summer, it was discovered that he had a congenital heart abnormality, which prevented him from starting the season.
