World Rugby U20 Championship 2024 updates: With convincing wins, France, New Zealand, and England qualified for the World Rugby U20 Championship 2024 semi-finals, while Ireland moved on when their match against Australia was postponed due to bad weather in Cape Town.

On the third day of the event, victories were also secured by Argentina and Georgia.

France defeated Wales 29–11 in tough conditions at Athlone Sports Stadium to guarantee their spot in the semi-finals. Les Bleuets’ victory and bonus point ensured their place in Pool A even before New Zealand defeated Spain 45–13; the game was called off at halftime owing to bad weather. Pool A was won by New Zealand, and France qualified as the best runners-up.

The Ireland vs Australia match was canceled due to heavy weather in Cape Town; both sides received two competition points. Ireland advanced as the Pool B winners as a result of this outcome.

With a try in the closing seconds of play, England defeated South Africa 17–12 in another exciting game to take the lead in Pool C. In the meantime, Georgia won their first tournament match, defeating Italy 28-17, while Argentina crushed Fiji 52-12, increasing their chances of making it to the semifinals.
