Danny Welbeck‘s goal against his old team in the 32nd minute put United behind the score. It was his sixth goal in 16 games versus the team. After sixty minutes, Amad Diallo tied the score for United with a cut inside shot that beat Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

Alejandro Garnacho, a forward for United who finished on the line, had a chance to put the visitors ahead in the dying moments, but Joshua Zirkzee stopped him. Zirkzee, a Bologna close-season acquisition, was offside, and VAR disallowed the goal.

Brazilian striker Pedro, who went unmarked at the far post, added salt to United’s wounds by heading home from Simon Adingra’s cross, ensuring Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler kept his 100% start after Brighton’s victory over Everton the previous weekend.

The 31-year-old German arrived from St Pauli to replace Roberto De Zerbi during the off-season, making him the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history.

“It was my team’s right to win. Hurzeler remarked, “We have to cherish these moments because they create memories. Ten Hag went on, “They’re both really soft goals. As a team, we should have done better. We have to be more clinical in both boxes.”

At the Etihad Stadium, City overcame an early scare against promoted Ipswich by scoring three goals in the span of four minutes.

In the seventh minute, Sammie Szmodics, who was acquired from Blackburn during the off-season, gave Ipswich a surprising lead by latching onto a feed from Omari Hutchinson and shooting past Ederson’s legs.

After Leif Davis’s foul on Savinho in the 12th minute, City equalized as Haaland easily converted the penalty. Before leaving City in 2022, Ipswich keeper Arijanet Muric spent four years there. When he returned, he brought a surprise for his former team: in the 14th minute, Kevin De Bruyne snatched the ball and scored.

After Haaland’s brilliant ball to De Bruyne was flicked past Muric, City increased their lead to three goals. Ilkay Gundogan, a German midfielder, rejoined his old team from Barcelona on Friday and made his City debut off the bench in the second half. His deal is for one year.

Haaland scored his fourth goal of the season in the 88th minute, capping his trifecta with a characteristically ferocious strike. Yves Bissouma, a midfielder for Tottenham, won back the favor of manager Ange Postecoglou after his incredible goal spurred a 4-0 victory over Everton in north London.

Picker Bissouma of Postecoglou was suspended for one game after releasing a video on social media depicting him ingesting nitrous gas.

“You know what it’s like when you punish your child and they do everything right for the next two days?” According to Postecoglou, Bissouma had returned. In just his 52nd appearance, the Mali international scored his first league goal for Tottenham in the 14th minute, making the most of his brief reprieve.

In the 25th minute, Son Heung-min increased Tottenham’s lead. The South Korean forward robbed Everton’s goalie for an easy finish, forcing Pickford into a humiliating error. In the 71st minute, Cristian Romero headed Tottenham’s third goal. Six minutes later, Son scored his second with a precise finish.

Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen’s goals in the second half of West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace gave manager Julen Lopetegui the first victory of his tenure.

At Craven Cottage, Fulham defeated Leicester 2-1 thanks to a goal from Alex Iwobi in the 70th minute, after Wout Faes had cancelled out Emile Smith Rowe’s first-half goal for the home team.

Thanks to a goal in the 70th minute by Morgan Gibbs-White, Nottingham Forest defeated Southampton 1-0. Arsenal, who are vying for the title, will play Aston Villa late on Saturday.
