Sinner’s winning run in the Australian Open in January is part of his streak. Beginning with the Davis Cup last year, the Italian is 19-0 overall. He has won 21 of the previous 22 sets.

Sinner stated, “You earned these things by working hard and believing,” during an interview with Tennis Channel. Simply put, I’m happy to be included in this. It makes no difference if you’re 16-0 or not.
In the opening set, Sinner committed just four unforced errors while Lehecka committed 17.

With a backhand winner in the fourth game of the second set, Sinner earned the only break of the match. In the eighth game, Sinner converted his fourth match point by serving it out after Lehecka erased his first.
Sinner remarked, “I’ve improved a lot, which gives me more confidence on the court.”

When Wozniacki resigned due to a right foot problem in the second set, Swiatek was up 6-4 and had just broken the Dane. During the event, she had a toenail trapped on her foot, so a trainer had to retape it in between matches.
Many of Swiatek’s 17 unforced errors gave Wozniacki, the 2011 event champion and former world No. 1, a 4-1 lead in the opening set.

However, Swiatek took it from there, winning the next five games to win the opening set. In front of actor Will Ferrell, she ended the set with a four-deuce victory over Wozniacki. Swiatek scored 17 wins overall.

With just 14 games lost in her matches thus far, Swiatek advanced to the semifinals in the Southern California desert for the third consecutive year. After retiring three and a half years prior, Wozniacki was competing in her eighth tournament since her comeback. She is married and has two kids.

For the first time in three career meetings, Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine defeated Anastasia Potapova of Russia 6-0, 7-5, to advance to the semifinals. For the first time, the combined ATP Tour and WTA Tour event featured all eight quarterfinals on one day.
