AC Milan Triumph Over Manchester City 3-2; Arsenal Outplays Manchester United in USA
AC Milan defeated Premier League winners Manchester City 3-2 in a thrilling preseason match at Yankee Stadium.
After two goals from Italian striker Lorenzo Colombo in the first half, Marco Nasti struck the game-winning goal in the 78th minute. In this intense game, Nasti’s goal—assisted by Alexis Saelemaekers—secured Milan’s victory.
On Saturday in New York, AC Milan defeated English Premier League champion Manchester City 3-2 thanks to goals from Lorenzo Colombo in the first half and Marco Nasti in the final. In the 78th minute, Nasti gave Milan the lead they would need. The 20-year-old Italian striker scored with his inside right foot after receiving a centering ball from Belgian right flank Alexis Saelemaekers. A number of European teams are in the US for preseason matches before their league campaigns begin in a month.
Erling Haaland, a striker from Norway, gave Manchester City the lead in the 19th minute. However, AC Milan’s Colombo, an Italian forward, tied the score in the 30th and 34th minutes, putting the Italian team ahead 2-1 at the half at Yankee Stadium.
Micah Hamilton, a winger from Manchester’s hometown, crossed the ball into the box from the left side to tie the score in the 55th minute for City.
James McAtee, an English striker, headed the ball into the goal to set up Nasti’s championship game. In a friendly at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-1 thanks to a goal by Gabriel Martinelli in the 81st minute.
Rasmus Hojlund, a 21-year-old striker from Denmark, gave United the lead in the tenth minute.
Hojlund received a clearing pass from Marcus Rashford down the left wing. He raced Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven into the area, gained an advantage, and fired a goal between Karl Hein’s legs for the Gunners.

In the 26th minute, Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal equalized the score with a centering pass from point blank range, and the Red Devils’ futile plea for an offside call was met with no result.
After entering from the left side, Martinelli—who captained Brazil to Olympic gold in Tokyo—flicked a right-footed shot inside the near post to give Arsenal the victory.
Chelsea are torn apart by Celtic
Earlier, Celtic defeated Chelsea 4-1 thanks to goals from Kyogo Furuhashi of Japan and Matt O’Riley of Denmark in the first half.
Michael Johnston and Luis Palma gave the Glasgow team further goals in the second half, and Christopher Nkunku’s penalty kick in the 89th minute kept the London team from losing.
Tuesday’s 4-3 victory over Man City was mostly due to Celtic’s dominance at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. O’Riley’s left-footed shot from the right side of the box inside the far post gave Celtic the lead in the 19th minute.
In the 33rd minute, Furuhashi, unguarded, scored a left-footed goal from point-blank range after O’Riley centering passed to him. This gave the Scottish team a 2-0 lead at the half.
The Hoops’ last goal came in the 79th minute by a goal from Johnston, after Honduran scorer Palma extended the lead in the 76th.
