NBA Roundup: Magic Dominates Grizzlies to Snap Losing Streak 118-88

NBA Roundup: The Orlando Magic triumphed over the visiting Memphis Grizzlies with a score of 118-88, putting an end to their three-game losing streak. 

Visiting Milwaukee defeated Atlanta with a score of 36 points and 16 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo, ending the team’s two-game losing streak.

Orlando ended a three-game losing slide, leading by as much as 43 points. Cole Anthony (15), Jalen Suggs (15), Franz Wagner (13), and Paolo Banchero (13), who matched his career high with four blocked shots and had 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, were among the seven Magic players who scored in double figures. Joe Ingles scored eleven points, and Markelle Fultz finished with twelve.

After the first two minutes of play, Orlando never fell behind and shot 48.7% from the field, including 22 of 44 (or 50%) from three-point range. By the end of the first quarter, the Magic had a 20-point lead, and they never allowed the undermanned Grizzlies to close the gap.

Desmond Bane (back discomfort) and Santi Aldama (sickness) were declared out of the game ahead to Memphis’ game, forcing them to play with an injured lineup. Leading the Grizzlies with 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench was Jordan Goodwin. After missing the previous five games due to personal reasons, Luke Kennard scored nine points, Jake LaRavia scored ten, GG Jackson and Scottie Pippen Jr. both contributed eleven points, and Brandon Clarke scored thirteen.

BUCKS 122, HAWKS 113

Visiting Milwaukee defeated Atlanta with a score of 36 points and 16 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo, ending the team’s two-game losing streak.

Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with eight assists in addition to going 12-for-22 from the floor and 12-for-16 from the free-throw line. Antetokounmpo recorded 30-plus points and 10-plus rebounds for the 34th time in the league.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, who finished with 38 points and 10 rebounds, and Dejounte Murray, who finished with 20 points, 12 assists, and eight rebounds, paced the Hawks.

CELTICS 104, PELICANS 92

After a strong first quarter, Boston’s defense limited the New Orleans offense, and Kristaps Porzingis recorded a double-double as the visiting Celtics pulled away for a victory.

With four teammates scoring in double figures and Porzingis finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds, the Celtics ended a two-game losing run that was matched for the longest of the season in the third quarter. Leading the pace with 23 points was Jayson Tatum.

The Pelicans were led by 25 points from Zion Williamson and 24 from CJ McCollum. After scoring 37 points in the first quarter, New Orleans’ total points for the second and third quarters combined were lower (31).
