Because six of the other seven postseason slots are still up for grabs, they won’t know where they’re going to play in the opening round until at least Tuesday. Phoenix and Diana Taurasi are guaranteed a spot in the seventh seed.

All 12 teams will play on Thursday to cap off the WNBA regular season, which is down to its final four days this week. On Sunday, the postseason gets underway.

The Fever will most likely travel to Connecticut, which is now ranked third. In May, Clark’s WNBA career began with a game against Connecticut. Clark had a fantastic season, breaking the league’s rookie scoring record and the WNBA record for single-season assists.

With a season-high 35 points on Sunday, she surpassed the scoring record, surpassing Seimone Augustus’ 2006 record of 744. Clark’s season total is 761 points.

With two games remaining, the Sun is behind the Minnesota Lynx for the second seed. On Tuesday, the two clubs square off in Connecticut. In the tiebreaker between the two teams, the Sun is in the lead.

Minnesota’s victory over New York on Sunday leaves them with a chance to secure the top seed. The tiebreaker belongs to the Lynx, who are two games behind the Liberty. For that to occur, Minnesota would need to win its next two games in addition to New York losing on Tuesday away to Washington and Thursday at home to Atlanta.

It’s also unclear who the team that finishes as the top seed will play.

Atlanta, Chicago, and Washington are now tied for eighth place, the final playoff slot. After defeating the Mystics in overtime on Sunday, the Dream managed to survive. Chicago fell against Phoenix at home, giving up a chance to gain an advantage over the other two clubs.

Tuesday’s game between Chicago and Atlanta will determine who gets the final postseason spot. Tuesday night, Washington takes on league-leading New York; on Thursday, they play Clark and the Fever. That evening, Chicago makes a visit to Connecticut.

Right now, Las Vegas is the fourth seed. With two victories and two defeats by Connecticut, the two-time defending champion may rise to third. If that doesn’t occur, it will play Seattle. The Storm and Aces square off on Tuesday in Seattle, with the Aces leading the Storm by one game.
