Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Schedule Updates: In what will be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby to date, World Rugby has formally revealed the calendar for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, promising six weekends of exciting rugby action throughout England.

On August 22, 2025, Sunderland’s Stadium of Light will host the opening match of the largest celebration of women’s rugby, which will feature hosts England against the USA.

In order to provide compelling matches across the eight host locations, the match schedule was created with the interests of clubs and spectators in mind. To increase fan and family attendance throughout England, all games are scheduled over six weekends, with most starting in the afternoon.

To maximize player welfare and team effectiveness, teams will take at least six days off in between pool matches.

  • All fixtures will have a two-week ticket application period, starting at 11:00 GMT on November 5 and ending at 11:00 GMT on November 19.

The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 fixture schedule has been revealed by World Rugby, paving the way for six weekends of exciting competition in what is expected to be the biggest celebration of women’s rugby.

On Friday, August 22, 2025, hosts England will play the USA in Sunderland’s Stadium of Light in a thrilling opening weekend. On Sunday, August 24, reigning champions New Zealand will play Spain in the first game of their title defense at York Community Stadium.

Earlier this year, Brazil became the first South American team to qualify for a Women’s Rugby World Cup. On Sunday, August 24, they will play South Africa in their tournament debut at Franklin’s Gardens in Northampton.

With compelling matchups in each of the eight host locations, family-friendly kickoff times, and optimized team travel, the match schedule was created with the team and fan experience in mind. Each side will also benefit from at least six days off in between pool matches, which is in line with World Rugby regulations and will allow the best teams in the world to train and play at their peak.

During the pool stage, there will be six double header matches, creating a festival vibe in the host venues and offering local communities and families a fun-filled day out. Fans can apply for tickets for every match starting at 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, November 5 and ending at 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, November 19, as the excitement grows. In the event that a price category has too many applicants, ballots will be used.
