ICC T20I World Cup 2024 Updates: India has been allocated the semi-final spot in Guyana for the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled for June 27.
India’s final-four match will take place in Providence if they advance to the knockout stages.
If India makes it to the knockout stages of the men’s T20 World Cup, they will play in the second semi-final on June 27 in Providence, Guyana. Due to the schedule of the matches, India has most likely been assigned to the Guyana semifinal.
The first semifinal match at Tarouba, Trinidad, is scheduled for June 26 at 8.30 p.m. local time, or 6 a.m. in India. But the semi-final between Guyana and India will begin at 10.30 am local time, which is much more TV-friendly than 8 pm in India.
In addition, the match in Bridgetown, Barbados, is scheduled for a daytime start on June 29 at 10 a.m. local time, or 7.30 p.m. in India.
It has also been established by the playing conditions that there won’t be a reserve day for the second semifinal. Rather than the 190 minutes reserved for the first semi-final and the final, which have reserve days, the match will feature 250 minutes of extra time to try to secure a finish in the event of weather delays.
With only one day separating the second semi-final and the final, the tournament schedule does not allow for a reserve day. Therefore, one extra hour has been added.

In the event of continuous rain, the second semi-final may be very close. This is because, at ICC events, a decisive outcome can only be reached when both teams have batted for a minimum of 10 overs apiece.
With the exception of the three knockout games, most T20 World Cup games need the side batting second to bat for just five overs in order for a result to be gained in abbreviated games. This also applied to Australia’s 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals and championship game.
