Brazilian winger Savio, a target for Man City, plays for a team in the City Football Group
The Brazilian winger Savio, who has helped Girona mount a surprise title challenge in La Liga this year, is a target for Manchester City.
Although no agreement has been reached, the fact that the teenager is on loan from Troyes, another City Football Group team, may facilitate a transfer.
Savio was acquired for an initial €6.5 million in 2022, but he hasn’t actually played for Troyes. Instead, he spent the previous season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before moving to Girona for the current campaign.
He has helped Girona to second position in the Spanish top division with five goals and seven assists, which is tied for the most in La Liga this season.
Aleix Garcia, Eric Garcia, and Yan Couto, who is on loan from the Etihad Stadium, play for Girona, another team in the City Football Group.
Girona has mostly set up Savio, a Brazil Under-20 international who started his career with Atletico Mineiro, on the left side.
Claudio Echeverri, an attacking midfielder from Argentina, was the only teenager signed by City during the January transfer window. He was then returned to River Plate on loan for the remainder of 2024.
