This extraordinary accomplishment adds a new chapter to Ronaldo’s illustrious career and solidifies his place among the world’s most significant athletes.
Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the all-time greats, achieved a significant milestone on social media when he became the first person to reach a cumulative total of one billion followers. Ronaldo’s popularity on social media has increased even more as a result of his recently opened Instagram account.
The 39-year-old, who plays club football in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, announced on Thursday that he has amassed 1 billion followers across social media platforms—a record that has never been surpassed by any person in history. Ronaldo’s YouTube account, the most recent addition to his social media presence, broke multiple records by surpassing the 50 million mark in just one week.
With over 639 million Instagram followers, Ronaldo has the largest portion of his 1 billion social media followers on the platform. In addition, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player has 113 million X-followers and 170.5 million Facebook fans.
The Portuguese football hero wrote an emotional letter on social media after he breached the 1 billion mark on the internet.
“We’ve made history – 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number – it’s a monument to our common enthusiasm, drive, and love for the game and beyond.
I’ve always performed for my family and for you, from the streets of Madeira to the world’s largest stages, and today 1 billion of us stand together. You have supported me through all the highs and lows along the journey. Together, we have demonstrated that there are no boundaries to what we can do on this journey, which is our adventure.
I appreciate your support, belief in me, and presence in my life. We’ll keep working hard, succeeding, and creating history as a team; the best is still to come,” Ronaldo posted on social media.
