Mbappe’s Final Season at PSG

During his last season at PSG, Mbappe played a pivotal role in guiding the team to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Despite his efforts, PSG could not secure a Champions League title during his seven seasons with the club. Notably, Mbappe’s exceptional performance helped PSG eliminate Barcelona, Real Madrid’s rivals, from the competition.

Real Madrid’s Champions League Triumph

Real Madrid, the new home for Mbappe, claimed victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final held at Wembley on Sunday. This triumph marks Real Madrid’s 15th Champions League title, further solidifying their dominance in European football.

Transfer Announcement and Start Date

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Real Madrid would officially announce Mbappe’s signing next week. “Mbappe made his decision in February; he can now be considered a new Real Madrid player,” Romano shared on social media. Mbappe will join the team in July, just in time for the new season and the UEFA Euros 2024.

Mbappe’s Farewell to PSG

In a heartfelt social media post, Mbappe expressed his emotions about leaving PSG. “It’s a lot of emotions. For many years, I had the great honour to be a member of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world, which allowed me to travel here,” Mbappe stated. “It’s hard and I never thought it would be this difficult to announce that I will leave the country, France, the league, and the Championship. But I think I needed this, a new challenge after seven years.”

Mbappe’s Stellar Career at PSG

Kylian Mbappe leaves PSG as the club’s all-time leading goal scorer, with 256 goals since joining from AS Monaco in 2017. The 25-year-old World Cup winner’s remarkable performance and goal-scoring prowess have cemented his status as one of the world’s elite footballers.

Upcoming Challenges

As Mbappe prepares for his move to Madrid, he is also gearing up to represent France in the UEFA Euros 2024. The forward’s arrival at Real Madrid is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options significantly, making them strong contenders for future titles.

Kylian Mbappe Snubs Paris Olympics for Real Madrid Move: Key Factors Behind His Decision

This major career decision aligns with reports indicating that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez prefers his players to be available for pre-season rather than participating in the Olympics.

On Monday, Kylian Mbappe officially signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, ending months of speculation. Mbappe expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support.”

Exclusion from France’s Olympic Squad

Mbappe’s exclusion from the Olympic squad has raised eyebrows, with many attributing it to Real Madrid’s stance on the matter. French Olympic coach Thierry Henry remains hopeful, saying, “I have to give a fairly realistic list, even if I know that it is virtual. Everything is open for everyone, but we must give a list so that everyone can prepare. But we are not closing the door to anyone.”

Financial and Career Implications

The former PSG star will reportedly earn 35 million euros per season at Real Madrid. He had verbally agreed to join the club back in February. Real Madrid, fresh off their record-extending 15th Champions League title win, believe that Mbappe’s addition will bolster their chances of defending their crown next season.

In the Real Madrid squad, where will Mbappe fit in?

Semra Hunter, a Spanish football journalist:

“Ultimately it will depend on what Carlo Ancelotti wants to do from a tactical point of view.”There is, in a sense, a hierarchy, but naturally, you will choose the greatest players you have at your disposal.

“Let’s assume that Ancelotti will continue to play a 4-4-2 formation with Jude Bellingham at the top of the midfield diamond for the upcoming campaign, even if Bellingham is truly free to do anything he wants on the field.

This implies that Vinicius and Mbappe, as they have done this season, may launch a two-pronged attack together. “Vinicius has truly claimed the left side as his own. It’s the finest situation for him. Rodrygo is more adaptable tactically; he can play as a No. 10, on the right, or left.

Thus, there are numerous choices. With Mbappe in the middle and Vinicius and Rodrygo on the wings, he could play a 4-3-3 formation. However, he would have to give up a midfield player because they are so well-stocked in that position. That doesn’t seem to happen very frequently.”
