After a fierce Steel Cage match against Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes prevailed to win the title in a hard-fought contest.
Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa – Steel Cage Match for the WWE Championship
In the main event of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship following a brutal brawl between himself and Solo Sikoa, a formidable opponent from The Bloodline.
Taking early dominance, Sikoa left Rhodes down and bloody after bashing him against the cage. Rhodes made a strong recovery against the unrelenting attack, landing a high-flying Cody Cutter from close to the top of the cage.
As the two superstars engaged in a match atop the steel structure, the action picked up steam. Sikoa stunned the crowd by landing a stunning Superplex from the top. Even after taking several strikes and even a vicious Flying Splash, Rhodes managed to muster the power to execute his trademark CrossRhodes maneuver. But Sikoa unexpectedly threw away.
There was yet more to The American Nightmare. Even after he ascended the cage again and unleashed a devastating Crossbody Splash, Sikoa continued to fight. As Sikoa attempted his Samoan Spike in the closing seconds, Rhodes countered with another CrossRhodes, sealing the win.
Post-match Chaos: Roman Reigns Returns to Aid Cody Rhodes
The Bloodline stormed the cage and attacked Rhodes after the match. However, as the attack grew more intense, Roman Reigns unexpectedly made his long-awaited comeback and turned against The Bloodline, startling everyone. The WWE Universe was in shock as he destroyed Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
Michin Defeats Piper Niven
Michin defeated Piper Niven with great significance in a furious duel. With Michin jumping beyond the ring and Niven countering with a devastating Cannonball, both fighters went above and above. Michin’s trademark Eat The Feet finishing cemented the victory.
Following the match, Michin was taken by surprise by Chelsea Green and Niven, who brutally put her through a trashcan with an Unpretty-Her.
Randy Orton & Kevin Owens Defeat A-Town Down Under
Teaming up with Randy Orton, Kevin Owens faced A-Town Down Under, which consisted of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. After some initial misunderstandings, Orton and Owens got along well, with Owens persevering through hardship before assigning Orton to tidy up. Owens delivered a stunning finish, and Orton landed his trademark rear-naked chokehold to seal the victory.
Andrade Defeats Carmelo Hayes to Become No. 1 Contender for the U.S. Title
After overcoming Carmelo Hayes in their fifth meeting, Andrade earned a chance to compete for the United States Championship in the future. Before the fight, Hayes violently attacked Andrade, to which Andrade retaliated with a strong Destroyer and his running knee strike.
In an exciting final round, Andrade used a Twisting Neckbreaker to counterattack Hayes’ top rope maneuver, winning the pinfall and a shot at the crown.
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns Set to Team at WWE Bad Blood
Unexpectedly, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns have decided to team up for WWE Bad Blood, where they will face Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. This unlikely partnership is expected to heighten the drama in the ongoing story of Rhodes, Reigns, and The Bloodline.
