After Villarreal defeated Celta Vigo 4-3 at home, Dani Parejo scored from a penalty rebound in the tenth minute of extra time on Monday to take over first place in La Liga. After winning their first two games, Celta began the third round of the Liga season atop the table, ahead of Real Madrid on goal differential.

After 12 minutes, Borja Iglesias, who was playing for Celta for the first time, gave the visitors the lead by pouncing on a loose ball and tucking it into an empty net.

Sergi Cardona equalized from a corner in the 26th minute after going unchallenged at the far post. Before the half, Oscar Mingueza put Celta back ahead. After just one minute on the pitch, Thierno Barry, a Villarreal replacement, headed an equalizer on the hour.

Villarreal took the lead four minutes later when Jailson, a defender for Celta, diverted a cross from Nicolas Pepe into his own net. Swedish center back In the 80th minute, Carl Starfelt headed Celta level.

Hugo Alvarez, a second-half substitution for Celta, pulled down Barry deep into stoppage time, resulting in a penalty.

Parejo’s spot kick was stopped by goalie Ivan Villar, but the midfield player scored on the rebound. With the win, Villarreal moved up to seven points and assumed first place.

Dusan Vlahovic Shines as Juventus Secures Second Consecutive Serie A Win

With two goals in an outstanding display, Dusan Vlahovic helped Juventus defeat Verona 3-0 and win their second consecutive Serie A game. The victory on Monday highlights Juventus’ promising start under new head coach Thiago Motta, who replaced Massimiliano Allegri.

Juventus defeated Verona 3-0 on Monday to make it two consecutive convincing victories to begin the Serie A season, thanks to two goals from Dusan Vlahovic. After two games, Thiago Motta’s club is the only one with a perfect record—they defeated Como 3-0 to start the campaign—and they lead the early standings.

Juventus intends to contend for the Scudetto for the first time since 2019–20. Following Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal due to his outburst following their May victory in the Italian Cup final, Motta assumed the role of head coach.

Even though it was their best result in four years, Juventus managed to sneak into third place in Serie A last season. Just before the half-hour mark, Vlahovic handed The Old Lady the lead at Verona.

Before halftime, Nicolo Savona, a 21-year-old defender making his debut for the team, headed in Samuel Mbangula’s cross for Juve’s second goal.

After being promoted from the youth ranks, Belgian Mbangula has already scored a goal and provided two assists in his first two games for the senior club. Eight minutes into the second half, Vlahovic’s penalty secured the points. Regarding new coach Motta, Vlahovic told DAZN, “He is definitely working hard on our aggression and our attitude.”

“Everyone knows that the key to everything is our attitude; everything functions better when we have the correct mindset. “We play for each other, but also there are tactical changes that we know about.”

When Juventus hosts Roma on Sunday, it will probably be their toughest test of the first few weeks of the season. Earlier, in a 1-1 draw at Cagliari, Como overcame a deficit to earn their first Serie A point since 2003, due to a second-half equalizer by former AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone.

“I am happy, because this is a difficult place to play, but at the same time we need to improve and as soon as possible get used to the Serie A tempo,” Cesc Fabregas, the coach of Como, remarked.
