Nick Dunlap’s Victory at Barracuda Championship: Earns 300 FedExCup Points and $720K
The young golf phenom Nick Dunlap won the Barracuda Championship for the second time this year.
This victory, which earns him $720,000 and 300 FedExCup points as well as his first professional triumph, is especially noteworthy.
Nick Dunlap won as an amateur at The American Express in January, and no one will ever be able to take it away from him. It opened up too many doors to count, the first of which was a PGA TOUR membership, which he took right away, but he didn’t receive any FedExCup points, and its official earnings were exactly zero dollars. But he has since repeated the feat in a professional capacity.
Dunlap won the Barracuda Championship by two points on Sunday, accumulating 49 points in the season’s sole Modified Stableford scoring event. He is the first player in PGA TOUR history to win in both an amateur and professional division in the same year.
Dunlap was +4500 at BetMGM to win the pre-tournament. After finishing in the seventh to last position, he shot a field-high 19 points in the final round at Tahoe Mountain Club’s Old Greenwood Course, moving up 27 places in the rankings.
Barracuda is an Additional Event for which Dunlap is officially awarded $720,000 and 300 FedExCup points. His 2027 membership exemption is renewed for a further year. Additionally, he is now exempt from the 2025 editions of both prestigious championships because it takes place in the same season as THE PLAYERS Championship and the PGA Championship.

Second place went to Vince Whaley (+10000), who finished by himself. Patrick Fishburn (+8000) finished third, one point behind.
After the second and third rounds, Mac Meissner, who was +4000 to win, had the lead all by himself. However, on Sunday, he was able to muster just five points, ending the day alone in fourth position and five points behind the winner.
Keith Mitchell (+1600), the tournament favorite, missed the cut by eleven points.
