WWE Updates 2024: With John Cena’s WWE retirement tour currently in progress, rumors have begun to circulate that he might capture one last world championship.

There has been much speculation in the wrestling community about John Cena’s chances of winning one last world championship since he announced his WWE retirement tour. In order to break the tie with WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling icon Ric Flair for the most world titles in WWE history—both of them presently own 16—Cena would need to win his 17th world title.

Cena had already made references to a potential one-last attempt to win the world title, but Flair recently stepped in, offering his backing by declaring that “he can have it” on a recent episode of “Busted Open Radio.”

“John Cena is a person I think about a lot,” Flair remarked. “I have no issue if they do it with John. I would be the first to answer the phone and give him a handshake.”

Flair also spoke on the amazing recovery of WWE star Randy Orton, who returned from injuries late last year and now owns 14 world titles.

“Another guy, in my eyes, that would deserve to be the world champion and break that record is Randy Orton,” stated Flair. “To be on top for 20 years, like John and Randy have, that’s a long time to be on top.”

The way WWE creative boss Paul “Triple H” Levesque feels about the situation plays a big part in Cena breaking Flair’s record. While he might rather see a “homegrown” WWE talent keep that record, Flair discussed how Levesque’s fondness for the NWA and respect for Flair’s career could prevent Cena from being scheduled to defend his 17th world title.

Flair remarked, “He was such a fan of mine.” “I don’t think he wants to pull the trigger on [Cena].”

In addition, Flair said he “just loves wrestling” and that he’ll be interested to see how they succeed. Even said, Flair believes that his daughter Charlotte Flair would be the best candidate to win the majority of world championships, even though he supports Cena.

“I think it would be the biggest thing that could ever happen,” stated Flair. “I told her once, but she objected to the analogy. “If you broke that record, you’d be as famous as Serena Williams,” I told her.

Given that Charlotte Flair is presently the 14-time WWE world champion, it is possible that she will ultimately reach the 17-year mark. However, she still has to recover from her meniscus injuries, ACL, and MCL, so this could take some time.
